Contemporary Modern Technique

The class will reference modern, post-modern and contemporary sensibilities. A keen attention is placed on manipulating classical technique while emphasizing musicality and phrasing choices, in relationship to ideas, tasks and efficiency. The class reflects my background and training, a fusion of styles wrapped in a contemporary/modern dance vernacular that tends to be a little funky, technical, lifted yet grounded, steeped in narrative as well as the abstract.

Improvisation/Composition

This class serves as a tool to explore the nature of composition. It will focus on different ways to instigate and generate movement through the investigation of improvisation and structured movement exercises.
